What to Expect When You Weren't Expecting (to break your phone)

June 10, 2016

One drop. That’s all it takes. One drop and your phone is shattered, blanked out, or unresponsive. The first thought following the string of profanities that spewed from your mouth is “What do I do now?” Well, don’t worry. Saluki Screen Repair can help.

Now, I’m sure you do not know what to expect when you enter our little shop at 859 E. Grand Ave, but I, the Screen Queen, am here to break it down for you. Of course, we can tell by you’re the look on your face that you have broken your phone, but do tell us what exactly happened. As you know, there is a huge difference between dropping your phone and shattering it on concrete, and breaking it by dropping in a large puddle of water. And sometimes, we just like a good story!

But seriously, we need to know as much as possible about your device, so give us a heads up! Let us know about the time your two-year-old threw it in the sink, or when you broke it and let your best friend fix it so your parents wouldn’t know. As silly as all of this might sound, it will help us figure out the best solution for you. Even if it as insignificant as wiggling your charger to make the phone charge or as serious as dropping it in the toilet, please tell us.

Once you get over the initial broken phone problem, listen to what the techs have to say. Whether they are suggesting additional repairs or trying to sell you a protective case, they are trying to help. We believe in the products we sell, and we won’t try to make you buy anything that we don’t use ourselves. The staff wants you to leave the shop with a 100{244f82a92ab99921ba4e94ac6630d626bcbe337bca2710e835f7026cbf2ddbf6} functional phone, secured in a high-quality case and screen protector.

So, here’s what happens when you break your phone:
1.You bring it to us.
2.We listen to what happened to your phone, and do some brief testing.
3.We make a repair recommendation, offer accessories to help you prevent further damage, and give you an estimated repair time (usually an hour or less).
4.We repair your phone and install any additional accessories.
5.You pick up your phone and pay.
6.You leave happy!

As far as payment goes, if we can test your phone before we start to work on it then you do not need to pay anything until you come pick up your phone. However, if your phone cannot be tested at the time of drop-off, you will need to pay a $30 deposit, which is applied to the final cost of repair. Don’t worry! We aren’t adding any fees, I promise!

We do advertise one hour screen repairs, but for some devices, especially those that need multiple repairs, it may take a little longer.

We accept all forms of payment, excluding American Express, of course.  😛  After that, the adorable short-haired girl in the front (hint, hint: that’s me!) will explain the one year warranty on manufacture defects and the 90-day break warranty if your bought the Platinum Repair Pack. Listen to her!

After that, you will be sent on your way; Free to roam the world as you please.

So, now you know exactly what to expect, when you weren’t expecting!
